US Vice President Harris Meets w/Guatemalan President Arevalo in Illegal Immigration Root Cause Discussion

NATION: In Washington, Vice President , Kamala Harris is set to meet with Guatemalan President, Bernardo Arevalo. Harris and Arévalo have slated their meeting for discussion on matters involving the recent and ongoing illegal migration by South and Central American residents into the United States.

It was in the year 2021 as the Biden- Harris administration emerged, one of the first and foremost matters at issue involved the US southern border problem with the overwhelming influx of illegal migrants. The Biden-Harris administration addressed the problem indicating that illegal immigration existed as a thorn in the side of the United States.

Efforts made by tge Vice President involved Harris in researching the actual " root cause" for the historical migration by thousands of non-US citizens who would leave their own countries; their place of birth to , thereafter, arrive in the US by means of crossing the border on foot or by other unlawful means.

The most frequent and repeated problems stemmed from crossing that have been assisted by human dmugglers who are psid to transport illegal Allen's into the United States. The problems multiplied adding illegal child trafficking, drug smuggling, weapons and fire arms smuggling.

Over the last decade, tge United States law engircement and federal government has engaged in combatting the delivery of fentanyl. an opioid drug that became one of the most widely used as it was also, trafficked into the U.S. illegally. Fentanyl remains one of the most deadly, illegal substances used in the U.S. while more than 270,000 deaths , including teens, were caused by the use of fentanyl between the years of 2021-2023.

The discussions held between Vice President Harris and Guatemalan President Arevalo involving a number of matters at issue eoukd lead to the uncovering of the known root causes. Harris has. also, indicated that the Biden-Harris administration has provided a $5.1 billion dollar fund to be issued to Central American countries for assisting their governments with addressing the overwhelming outflow of illegal immigrants.

Harris has taken the first step in responding to that which may be required for curtailing the ongoing immigration problem, such that several southern border US states declared in February as an invasion. Vice President Harris responds through the federal level 'mobility office' established to put across the recently formulated statute which states that foreign government will be assisted with addressing their resident's desire to enter the U.S. whike, also, registering alien residents in their own homelands.

To date, 23,780 Guatemalan residents have entered the United States under illegal standards while remaining categorized by an illegal status.
