POLITICS: On Monday, US President Joe Biden welcomed Guatemalan President Bernardo Arévalo to the White House, Biden congratulating tge Central American leader on his election victory.

Today, President Biden sought to renew ties between the nation of Guatemala and the United States. Biden and Arevalo met yo discuss matter involving the strong relations currentkybhad between the two countries. Arevalo epukd, Aldo meet with Vice President Kamala Harris following the meeting with Biden.
Talks were held, today, involving the importance of "...good governance, effective migration management, the importance of upholding democracy, and other issues of mutual interest."
The two leaders have demonstrated concern over the ongoing invasion by Central and South American residents who have poured into the United States illegally. While it has been the concern of the Biden-Harris administration to ensure that Central American problems are resolved in their country, the administration has, also, indicated that funding has been provided to assist with resolving matters on the home side.
Talks with Bice President Harris, today, resulted in the funding of more than $5.1 billion dollars issued through the () office to assist with the requirements had by Guatemalan officials at quelling matters associated with the massive exodus.
President Biden, also, thanked President Arévalo for moving forward with planning the 2024 Spring Declaration for Protection and Migration Summit to be held in Los Angeles.
Today, President Biden introduced the US Strategy For Addresding the Root Causes of Migration In Central America.
The Biden administration addressed a number of issues cited by Vice President Kamala Harris thst are included in the SARCMCA which address 1). root causes, 2). going beyond providing relief and 3). exceeding the basic assistance that involves cutting through the clutter to resolve the root causes.
