Grace Ocean Private & Synergy Marine LTD Owners of Dali Request $47.0m in Damages To Vessel & Cargo


STATE & NATIONAL: In the last weeks that have led to tge investigation of the Francis Scott Key Bridge crash that caused its collapse into the waters of Patapsco River, the companies that own the 112,000 ton carrier ship that caused the collapse are , today, requesting absolution of any responsibility for the crash.

On Thursday, the audacious Grace Ocean Private Ltd. and Synergy Marine Pte Ltd. ship owners have asked the Baltimore District Court to disregard any liability on the part of the ship owners and, thereafter, grant the companies more than $47.0 million in damages to their vessel.


Today, while it has been stated by US President Joe Biden and backed by Transpirtation Secretary Pete Buttigieg that expositions efforts are being made to repair and rebuild the FSK; doing do by ensuring the reconstruction is covered by the federal government. The developing saga now finds the precariousness of ship owners making every effort at throwing off any responsibility for the accident.


In the US, the commentary circulating surrounding the Dali crash suggests that owners of the ship will incur extensive damage claims made by the city of Baltimore and the Maryland government.


In lieu of the likely citations being made by both the city of Baltimore and tge state of Maryland, lawyers for the Synergy Marine LTD and Grace Ocean Private Ltd. have asked tge court to order a halt being put against any further "...enjoining..." efforts being made that would, otherwise, result in the court proceeding with the prosecution of clsims made against the ship companies.


A portion of the attorneys for tge company owners petition reads: "..liability be limited to the value of the Vessel and its pending freight in connection with the  voyage, and that Petitioner(s) be discharged therefrom upon the surrender of such interest, and that  the money surrendered, paid, or secured to be paid be divided pro-rata among the claimants that  are successful in proving their claims, reserving to all parties any priorities to which they may be  legally entitled, and that a decree may be entered discharging Petitioner(s) from all further liability."


In 1851, a statute established and vontdd as Uber in the Limitation of Liabilities Act indicates that a ship vompany may request a reduction in the cost of liability if that cost matches the value of the vessel. Whike tgere we're , thus far, only 2 people found in the waters of the Patapsco River, the city remains in search of another 6 workers who are considered to have been unable to release themselves from the twisted steel and broken concrete after the ship's crash.


Today President Joe Biden commented in regard to the events hbay have too frequently involved apparent attacks made against water bound vessels and crews. Biden stated that any such attacks made against humanitarian workers will not be tolerated in US waters.
