NYC Friday: 4.9 Richter Scale Quake Strikes-No Human Injury Reported


STATE & NATIONAL: The state of New York is not without its share of calamity. Today, reports made by the US Geological Survey have disclosed information surrounding a 4.8 Richter Scsle earthquake that struck New York city on Friday, April 5th.

On Friday, the city of New York was shaken by an earthquake that has reached the extent of a 4.8 seismic disaster.


As the quake erupted, the region of Tewksbury in central New Jersey erupted in the in leveling of earth to tge depth of 4.7 kilometers and continued over a 40 miles stretch reaching into New York City.


New York Governor Hochul has indicated that teams are on hand at this time to assess the current developments. City and state of New York continues to investigate the situation as aftershocks are, also, anticipated.


As the seismic event tore through the earth, the effects of the quake have traveled across the east coast. Today, the US Geology Survey continues its efforts at determining the full extent of Friday's 10am quake.


Acvording to New York Mayor, Eric Adams, residents shoukd remain braced for aftershocks. Mayor Adams stated that New Yorkers are, however, at liberty to conduct their day as usual.


Trimmers associated with the NJ/NY earthquake were felt in Baltimore Boston Massachusetts.
