Vice President Harris Travels To Vegas Speaking w/Young Leaders on Gun Violence Prevention


NATION: Today, Vice President Kamala Harris returned to Las Vegas to visit with vocational school students who are among the nation's most innovative and career oriented young leaders of today. According to statistics, young people with and without avocations and/or college education tend to be the highest among Americans targeted for gun violence. Today, Vice President, Harris spoke with students, today, in regard to efforts being made by the Biden administration to prevent gun violence.

Vice President Kamala Harris recently visited the College of Southern Nevada in North Las Vegas as part of her monthlong college tour across the country. Her visit was part of the “Fight for Our Freedoms” College Tour and included a moderated conversation at the campus.


The tour aims to engage with students from various educational backgrounds, including community colleges, historically Black colleges and universities, Hispanic-serving institutions, and apprenticeship programs.


During her visit, Vice President Harris discussed efforts by the Biden administration to prevent gun violence. This issue is particularly relevant for young people, both those with and without formal college education, who unfortunately remain among the highest targets for such violence.


Addressing gun violence is crucial for the safety and well-being of all Americans. The administration’s focus on prevention measures underscores the importance of community engagement and awareness.


Vice President Harris’s commitment to fostering dialogue and finding solutions is commendable. By engaging directly with students, she aims to create a safer and more informed environment for all.


Vice President Harris provides students in Las Vegas, Nevada with the information necessary to combat, prevent and avoid gun violence.


Through her discussion on the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, today, Vice President Harris informed young students of the most recent program established to address gun violence. Vice President Harris extends to young leaders much more in the way of information that will aid in the prevention of future gun violence.
