Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s recent renouncement of former President Donald Trump has indeed caused a stir. Former President Trump accused Robert F. Kennedy Jr. of being a “Democrat plant” and claimed that a vote for him would be a “wasted protest vote”

Trump’s allegation was posted on social media, where he characterized Kennedy as a “Radical Left Liberal who’s been put in place in order to help Crooked Joe Biden, the Worst President in the History of the United States, get Re-Elected."

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. denied these claims, calling them “wild and inaccurate.” He responded by challenging Trump to a debate, emphasizing that such matters should be resolved through the American tradition of presidential debate. Kennedy also highlighted that Trump, known for his debating skills, should not shy away from meeting him on the debate stage.

While President Joe Biden and Trump have teased the possibility of a debate between themselves, Kennedy has largely been left out of any promises to debate. The Commission on Presidential Debates has specific criteria for independent candidates to qualify, including 15% support in national polls and being on enough ballots to be statistically possible to win the election.

Kennedy’s campaign claims eligibility for the ballots in Nevada, New Hampshire, Hawaii, and Utah, but these states have a combined electoral vote of 18, far from the 270 required to win.
