POLITICS: Today, the White House released information and video footage display and celebration of the White House Correspondents' Dinner. The event, held at the Washington Hilton Hotel was toast of the town and attended by hundreds of news correspondents from across the nation, local and national celebrities and, of course, US President Joe Biden and guests, Vice President Kamala Harris and guests and a room filled with Washington officials. "Sleepy Donald..." Biden's speech began following a number of Thank Yous. Biden ,also commented in reference to Kelly O'Donnel stating "You're too young to become President." The evening at the Washington Hilton Hotel celebrated among guests gathered together for the annual ceremony, the White House Correspondents' dinner hosted by the WHCA spokesperson and White House Capitol Hill correspondent, Kelly O'Donnel and NBC Nightly News Host, Lester Holt.

The evening was represented by such a glittering gathering among the Washington elite-- and quite a few representing Hollywood among the cast of NBC Saturday Night Live. Holt held the coveted assignment of announcing the winners of, no less than , 6 awards given annually to WHCA NEWS correspondents. Lester Holt stated the names of Barack Ravid, Peter Baker, Tamera Keith, Doug Mills and additional awards given to the news teams of Lewindney Kreal; Lexei Churchhill; Janique Henandez; Carla Previsio; Zach Despar and Jessica Priest; The 2024 WHCA winner of the Katherine Graham Award of Courage and Accountability was the team of Nick Kirkpatrick, Sylvia F Fromm, Tom Frankel and Peter Walston.

There were, also, a host of others who received recognition and were named to Ethyl Haney and Alic Flannigan were among those recognized as the first black women who covered the administration of President Harry Truman. Two White House photographers awarded were Rodney Betton and Edward Lewis. The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to both Betton and Lewis.

Along the course of the evening's great events were comments made by numerous correspondents, though one of the most intriguing commentary was presented by the guest of the evening, comedian Colin Jost who was preceded by impressionist, Matt Friend. O'Donnel, also, welcomed to the forefront the next White House Capitol Hill correspondent, Eugene Daniels. Daniels was afforded the honor of recognizing and introducing by virtue, the next, up and coming White House correspondents.

The next event was a showcase displaying , by way of video tapped comments, the existing White House correspondents, "...of course." Thereafter, Kelly O'Donnel, a White House correspondent, herself and the President ofthe WHCA which, incidentally, is represented by 800 reporters and 215 companies from around the world. O'Donnel has been a household name with NBC News for 30 years.

O'Donnel 's compassion and penchant for news near and far, during the Saturday evening ceremony, recalled the names of prisoners held in foreign prisons. More than 100 journalists, O'Donnel stated, have been killed while more than 300 have been jailed. O'Donnel would not forget the officers filling the years and history of the WHCA whom she humbly recognized just prior to introducing the man of honor for the evening.

Then there was US President Joe Biden. It was the moment that everyone awaited with bated breath and, without question, President Biden "stole the show." Biden joked again, stating "My Vice P{resident actually endorses me. adding comments making reference to "Stormy weather.

Biden did not fail to entertain and he was funny. Seriously, Biden stated that both he and the next guest find strength in family. The President commented in regard to the guest comedian's mother whose heroics with the New York city Fire Department, Mrs. Kerry J. Kelly, was an astounding firefighter during her career.

Nearing the close of his comments, as the white House continues to do everything possible to bring every detained journalist home, Biden stated, journalism is not a crime, not here, not anywhere . President Biden stated that the off-hand comments made by former President Donald Trump are not mere comments--the impression is that statements referring to bloodbaths and other statements that allude to violence--particularly after America witnessed January 6th--Trumps comments are very serious. Biden stated that he wanted to make a toast to a free press to and America where freedom and democracy endure, God Bless America.

The evening and guests were uplifted by Colin's first joke aimed at President Biden. while ENS cannot and would not repeat every one of Colin's Jost's jokes, it is quite significant to state that President Joe Biden was not the benefactor of modern technology because, "it was not around when he was young." The White House Correspondents' Dinner, hosted by Kelly O'Donnel and Lester Holt NBC new correspondent , if the vast American public watched, one can only say, it was a night to remember!
