Police Force Exodus of Pro-Palestine Protestors & Encampments To Vacate USC Campus Alumni Park

STATE & NATIONAL: In California, a group of people assumed as being students, were moved away from the University of Southern California campus following orders that were stated by police. Police responded to a request by university officials who demanded that encampments and the students vacate the campus of be arrested. By Anne M. Erbynstein "If you are in the center of the campus, please leave."--USC Officials posted message of X Approaching the USC campus wearing riot gear, police in Los Angeles took on the taks of clearing the USC campus of the Pro-Palestine protesters. Protesters gathered together in Alumni Park were removed by force, today, after [police entered into the park to remove the 100 tent pitched campers who remained there during protests. Officials at the university shutdown the campus at 5 am postponing all routine activities for the duration of the time the police took steps to clear the area located in the center of the USC campus. Campers were, also, warned on X that they would be arrested if they failed to adhere to the demand for them to vacate the campus. Today, following the warning and police arrival, all persons camping on the grounds in the Alumni Park had cleared the area by 7am, Sunday, according to Communications Senior Vice President, Joel Curran. Curran commented stating that it had been necessary to call in LADPS to ensure that the university's demands were mat for campers to vacate the property. Curran stated that despite the removal bearing some measure of force and discord, there were no arrests made. USC officials encountered volatility that was the direct result of the presence of illegal campers, President of USC, Carol Folt stated. Folt indicated that the encampment had been rebuilt after it had been taken down and, in the course of the return of protesters, vandalism and harassment was also, committed by the protesters. Folt stated that the university was left with no other alternative than to have the protesters and their encampment tents removed by LAPD.
