Thunderstorms Traveling Similar to Texas' Recent Weather Conditions To Reach From Texas Across MidWest To Several States Along A Path Leading To New York



STATE & NATIONAL: Today, the National Weather Service reports the presence of storms developing in MidWest United States. The NWS states that tornadoes will send hail and flooding into the region along with 'straight-line' winds. By Anne M. Erbynstein dangerous, multi-day outbreak of severe weather will continue to batter parts of the Plains and Midwest the next few days. This includes the threat of strong tornadoes, particularly on Tuesday, as well as damaging hail and powerful straight-line winds. According to the most recent report, the severe storm moving into the Midwest is expected to move upward through the mid United States from Texas. The storm system will travel to Ohio, western Pennsylvania and New York by Wednesday.

The storm system may cause tornadoes while sending golf ball sized hail across the region while carrying damaging winds. Tornadoes are initially expected to travel away from the Dallas, Texas are reaching Oklahoma, Little Rock, Arkansas before reaching Missouri and Tennessee. The NWS provides information in regard to the origin of the storm stating that the storm traveled through Custer County and Yukon, Oklahoma with 100 mph winds reaching Salina, Kansas with baseball size hail that also struck portions of Kansas, Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle.

By Monday, the storm system reached Nebraska carrying hail larger than a baseball and winds reaching as high as 90 mph as the storm traveled to Yuma, Colorado with wind gusts reaching 62 mph and hail that caused severe damage to buildings, houses and vehicles. By Thursday, a 2nd storm system is expected to reach, again, into Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, northwest Louisiana, southwest Missouri and southern Kansas. Large hail and the possibility of tornadoes traveling along with the storm system can be anticipated.

Heavy rains and winds are expected to continue traveling to the Midwest, South and East with thunderstorms that will continue from Friday to Memorial Day. The NWS will provide weather forecast in regard to the storm activity following the conditions that develop by Memorial Day,
