US President Biden Travels To France Commemorating 80th Anniversary of D-Day

POLITICS: Few words can describe the veaty in the ceremony conducted today in M , France. It was a celebration of D-Day, Jun 6, 1964, when the US military forces of land and seas and Air Force converged on France during the French- Germany invasion. The battle at Normandy, France would go on for nearly one year while it was made totally clear, the United States would not leave France until its enemy had been defeated.

“History tells us freedom is not free. .. Remember the price of unchecked tyrant is the blood if the young and the brave." Biden commented further that we , the 32 NATO nations, will not quit.



Today, the United States and France gathered together in Omaha, France, the site of a bloody massacre where more than 2000 died. In that era of fierce, yet, determined fighting, there were , among the fallen soldiers , hundreds of US, French fighters who fended off German attackers .



That day D -Day, June 6, 1964, many of our soldiers died and mine President Joe Biden stated, many, also, returned home.


On Thursday, in Normandy , France US President Joe Biden, First Lady Dr Jil Biden traveled to France along with US Secretary ofthe Pentagon General Lloyd Austin, US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, Also the Director of Climate Control John Kerry along with Congressman Hakeem Jeffries and others in France to meet French President Emanuel and Mrs Macron.



An undoubtedly quite sophisticated ceremony it was as Secretary Lloyd Austin spoke stating his sentiments stating “ Together with our allies, we built peace out of war…,” such a culmination of events that resonated with the () US D-Day war heroes who traveled along with US dignitaries, this week.



Whike French President Macron spoke to the audience of thousands in his native langusre of French, President Biden closely followed and, in many ways, echoed the theme of President Macron’s speech.



US President Biden spoke with such eloquence in France—President Biden’s speech is the substance of such that will be recalled by many Presidents during many D-Day ceremonial events into the future.



On today in Normandy France , 41 D-Day soldiers traveled to the city where their battles with German took place. Among the 41, President Emanuel Macron and President Joe Biden hung medals of honor upon the D-Day soldiers and , after hugs and gentlemen’s expressions of appreciation, President Biden met each of the soldiers , shook their hands and honored them with hugs.



President Joe Biden marked the 80th anniversary of D-Day by honoring the bravery of American World War II veterans who stormed the beaches of Normandy, France, alongside U.S. allies. These veterans were part of the historic D-Day invasion that turned the tide in World War II.



During the ceremony at the Normandy American Cemetery, Biden emphasized the perpetual struggle between dictatorship and freedom, calling out Russian President Vladimir Putin as a “tyrant bent on domination.” Biden also praised the courage of Ukrainian troops and stressed the importance of real alliances.


The events in Normandy were somber, taking place among more than 9,000 tombstones of American veterans.



Approximately 150 Americans who participated in the Battle of Normandy, including 24 D-Day veterans, were expected to attend the ceremonies



.


It was a poignant moment as these veterans, many in their winter of life, returned to remember the day that changed the world.
