Malawi Vice President Chilima & 9 Others Killed In Plane Crash

US & GLOBAL: In northern Malawi, today, a report from the African nation’s President, Lazarus Chakwera, declared the death of Malawi’s Vice President, Saulos Chilima. Vice President Chilima was killed in an apparent weather related plane crash along with 9 other passengers.

On Tuesday, traveling a small military aircraft, Malawi Vice President Saulos Chilima crashed in a mountainous region of northern Malawi.


According to a report from Malawi President, the aircraft was shaken up when it was flown into a rain storm.


Chakwera’s report was provided indicating that Chilima’s aircraft had not landed in Mzuzu International Airport. The plane was later located 240 miles north of Malawi Capitol at Lilongwe.


The report indicates that Chilima’s aircraft crashed in the Chikangwa Forest, the entire plane was destroyed.


By President Chakwera Malawi’s Vice President was remembered to others as a “ good man, husband and father and a apatriot who served his country. Chakwea added “Words cannot describe how heartbreaking this is.”


President Chakwera’s final condolences were made to the 9 passengers who were, also, killed in the plane crash.
