Flash Floods & Thunderstorms Continue Through The Week Entering Into Florida

STATE & NATIONAL: Over the last 24 hours, the State of Florida has been overwhelmed with flood waters that followed extensive rains. Seven million residents are now without power following the 3rd day of rain storms.

Wednesday rains followed a full day of thunderstorm that left south Florida residents under 10’ of rain and, now, after todays rain storm, Miami Dade county is covered by 12’ of rainfall .


The National Weather Service has indicated that the southern region of Florida will expect to receive flash floods while more than a dozen counties have been issued warnings.


On Thursday, the National Weather Service issued flash flood warnings in a majority of regions of southern Florida, however, lifting flood warnings in portions of the region.


Today, the forecast indicates that rain is expected to continue in southern Florida over the next few hours while heavy rains continue.


The NWS indicates predicts that flash floods may create overflows in nearby rivers whike residents shoukd take care to remain away from flood waters as fallen live power lines have created the potential for electrical shocks to anyone attempting to maneuver through the floods.
