President & Dr Jill Biden Share in Eid al-Adha Celebration w/ American Muslims

POLITICS: Over the past weekend President Joe Biden and First Lady, Dr Jill Biden extended warm wishes to the Muslim community during the celebration of the Eid al- Adha. President Biden snd Dr Biden stated their well wishes for Muslims around the world.

“Jill and I wish American Muslims – and Muslims around the world – a very blessed Eid al-Adha.”— US President Joe Biden


During his hour of recognition extended to the members of the American Muslim community, President Joe Biden reminded of how the Eid al-Adha ceremony is as much a celebration of common values, honor to God and the “importsnce of community charity.”


In regard to the Muslim celebration, President Biden commented stating there are nearly 2 million Muslims, around the world, who are engaging in the Haij ceremony. The Haij brings Muslims together to honor God while encouraging faith and fellowship.


“My Administration is creating a national strategy to counter Islamophobia and related forms of bias and discrimination, which affect not only Muslims, but also Arab, Sikh, and South Asian Americans.”— US President Joe Biden


Biden commented in reference to the many contributions made by American Muslims who have made change occur in areas of “…medicine to technology, education, public service, the arts, and beyond.” Biden added that many Muslims currently work in his administration.


Biden discussed how the war in Gaza is making a very disturbing impact on Muslim communities around the world. Biden stated that the immense pain suffered by Muslims in Gaza is unfathomable as families and their homes are destroyed in the war.


Biden stated his faith in the UN Security Council’s approach to ending the violence in Gaza. In addition to the Israel-Gaza war, the White House has stated that steps are being taken to address and end the violence in Sudan.


The President stated that there are , also, efforts being made to dissolve the hostile aggression and disenfranchisement of the people of “…Rohingya in Burma and the Uyghurs in the People’s Republic of China.”


Biden referred to the U.S. Constitution and its principal standards which state tgst everyone is created equal and, by that standard Biden stated that the United States is a place where everyone can be treated with respect. While, in the United States , as Jews and even non-whites must repeatedly demand the respect that is an inalienable right written into the U.S. Constitution, the President does declare that “everyone’s equal humanity is cherished, and our differences are seen as the source of strength that they are.”


Biden bid Eid al-Asha celebrants to join with him and Americans in renewing the common values shared by every American. The President closed with a final comment, “.We wish them Hajj Mabroor.”—President Joe Biden
