Residents In Kenya Conduct Nationwide Protest To Ruto’s $2.7b Tax Revenues Plan

US & GLOBAL: Nairobe, Kenya, a nationwide protest has resulted in the deaths of 1 perdon as citizens converged against a new economic plan believed to heap excessive taxes upon the public. The plan would involve a decision by the government of Kenya to raise $2.7 billion dollars by way of taxation.

Chanting “ Peaceful” as thousands marched with a cadence line trot along the streets, residents of Kenya out numbered police as they stated their grievances with the government to members of the news media.



Residents in Nairobi stated their disagreement with the government making it known that they are tax payers, bill payers and honorable citizens of their nation who simply want a fair shake.



While President Ruto states the claim that the original bill has been moderated to align with a number of the requests stated by the people. Today, parents, however, complain that their children have not received adequate health care, nor inoculations along with poor response to care in hospitals.


One mother’s protested agains President Ruth’s tax hike decision questioning thst while many deficiencies exist, “ What has he done with our taxes.?” Replying to her own question , the woman states, Ruto has done “ Nothing.”


Protests proceeded through the streets as police took increasing drastic measures in an effort to disburse the crowds. One 29 year old make who sustained an injury to his leg died while receiving treatment in a local hospital. Several others were injured as police fire what sounded like gun shots and also used fire hoses to spray into the crowds


Protest supporters , there, applauded tge young protesters stating that they are taking responsibility for their own best interests, doing so in a well pronounced, yet, peaceful manner.


According to reports, the Kenya Parliament will vote on the proposed tax plan next week.
