White House Expands Access To Free Community College

POLITICS: On Friday, the Biden -Harris administration was joined by members of the () public to engage in discussion in regard to efforts being made toward expanding free community college Biden and Harris met with state leaders and, together sought areas of planning thst will provide for jobs and education assistance to students enrolling in an associate degree.

During a discussion held with state leaders, the Biden -Harris administration was informed of how state and community leaders have utilized Investing in America capital to expand community college promise programs.


Todsy, leaders discussed the prospect that the community college expansion plan oresents for providing good paying jobs. The promise program as described by the Domestic Policy Council and Office of the First Lady stated the areas of best interest alto students that include training in skills areas that can launch student into gainful employment.


The President has included in the promise program a $90 billion dollar package to be provided to institutions to expand free community college enrollment. The program will save student $4,500 dollars per year while, also, offering to high school student 12 college credits via the proposed dual enrollment effort provided as a result of the Classroom to Career program.

Joe Marro, Senior Policy Advisor to Maine Governor Janet Mills


Karen Spilka, Massachusetts Senate President Michelle Richard, Acting Director of the Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential


Stephanie Rodriguez, New Mexico Secretary of Higher Education


Shannon Gilkey, Rhode Island Postsecondary Commissioner


Administration participants included:


Mala Adiga, Deputy Assistant to the President and Policy Director for the First Lady


Robert Gordon, Deputy Assistant to the President for Economic Mobility, Domestic Policy Council
