STATE & NATIONAL: Over the weekend at a nightclub in Atlanta, Douglas County Probate Judge was arrested after a report was made that she punched a security police officer. Judge Chris Peters was arrested and charged by Fulton County police with felony obstruction .

On Thursday night, during the time Judge Peters patronized the Buckhead Nightclub in Atlanta, Ga., she was reported as having struck a police officer working the overnight shift at the nearby Red Martini Restaurant and Lounge.
Police arrived at the scene following the report, making a number of arrests. Probate Judge Peter’s was among the women arrested by Atlanta police officer.
Judge Peters was taken to the local Sheriff’s department and, after declining to provide identification, she requested to be attended by a different police officer.
According to eye witness reports, Peter’s was not guilty of striking the security police officer. Fulton County Attorney Marvin Arrington Jr. stated that Peters was assisting another women who was being attacked outside the lounge during the time that the incident occurred.
The report indicates that Peters was assisting a woman who was being assaulted by a man who claimed the woman, Alexandria Love, skipped him in a food truck line. The man , apparently irritated, took hold of Love turning Peter’s’ attention to the man’s attack.
Another woman, Madison Shannon Kelly, a friend of Love’s commented in regard to the incident stating, "I see this person flying by me and I didn't know who she was… I know she helped my friend, and if she hadn't helped, I don't know what we would be saying today."
During the arraignment if Judge Peter’s, Arrington stated that after careful review of tge video cams and the eye witness statements, he was certain that Judge Peters shoukd not have been arrested.
