Beryl Struck w/ 150 mph Winds Against Carriacou Island in Grenada, Caribbean

STATE & NATIONAL:On Monday, Hurricane Beryl continued westward moving into the Caribbean as a Category 4 Hurricane system. Beryl touched down in the Carriacou, Grenada regions early on Monday traveling at 20 mph.

“This is an extremely dangerous and life threatening situation.”—the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.


Today, Florida has relaxed all concern for Beryl's touching down in the coastal state as news from the Florida AccuWeather continues watch the affects of Beryl in the Caribbean.


As of the latest reports Hurricane Beryl is not expected to impact the East Coast. Currently, Florida is tracking Beryl as the Category 4. system struck the Caribbean carrying 150mph winds and heavy rains.


The most recent AccuWeather report indicates that Florida will not be affected by Beryl, however, in the Caribbean, Beryl reportedly toppled trees, destroyed structures including numerous houses.


Beryl strengthened to more than extreme wind as it slammed into the Caribbean and continued moving westward away from the Florida coastal city of Key West.


Today, the Caribbean's Windward Islands was expected to encounter a small impact of Beryl's landfall however, no reports have been made of Beryl's having touched down in the U.S. .


Persons located in the Carriacou and Granada regions of the Caribbean that are expected to encounter the most fierce impact of Beryl should follow the instructions of their local weather updates as Hurricane Beryl continues to approach the western Caribbean.
