Today, along the coast line of Texas, while winds remain mild, some rain has fallen in Corpus Christi, Flour Bluff and in the Chapman Ranch areas.  Rains have left light to very little in the way of flooding in the area while storm surge warnings continue to be issued for regions nearest the north Padre Islands.

According to the NWS, Beryl was reduced to a Tropical Storm by Friday night after striking near the Yukatan Peninsula in Mexico.

The most recent report on Beryl's current activity indicates that the storm system is gaining strength. Today, based on the movement of the TS, Beryl may gain extra hurricane strength which would result in cyclone-like conditions.

The storm system is inclined to reach landfall by dawn on Monday and is likely to continue to the north central region of Texas where the storm system caused heavy torrential rain and flooding.  Beryl however, is unlikely to create any dangerous storm condition once reaching east to Houston.

As reported earlier, Beryl appears to regroup as it moves further into the south Texas area.  Currently, as cloud cover darkens in the south Texas skies.

Beryl is approaching the coastal bend carrying 65 mph winds, baring evidence ofthe storm's increase in intensity.

Right now, Corpus Christi and Chapman ranch areas remain under severe storm watch.  Beryl has the potential to strengthen once reaching land fall.

Winds are expected to become hazardous.  Residents and business owners can anticipate damage to houses, buildings as the winds intensify.

Beryl will cause general damage in the region affecting fences, roadway signs making roads impassable.  Power lines are expected to be downed and the likelihood of significant loss of power is expected throughout the region.

Rains that fall in the Corpus Christi , Flour Bluff and Chapman Ranch areas will be significant with flooding reaching 2 to 4 feet. For resident in the Padre Island area, storm surges will will rise to greater than 3 feet above ground.

At this time, there have been no evacuation instruction issued by local authorities.  ENSNewsii will remain online to provide more information as new weather conditions unfold.
