STATE & NATIONAL: Today, tve nation mourned tge shooting swath of former Butler, Pennsylvania Fire Chief, Corey Comperatore was the one person struck and fatally wounded by bullets fired during what seems to have been the apparent attempted assassination of former U.S. President Donald Trump. Cooperators was 50 years of age.

“He shielded my body from the bullets that came at us. Both wife and daughter concurred, “He loved his family…” and, during the shooting, Comperatore was “…the hero he always was.”
On Saturday, it was only minutes into the Trump Butler, Pa., political rally when shots were fired into a massive crowd.
The trajectory of the gun shots were detected as being fired from a point behind the former President and to the left of the spectators seated behind the Trump podium.
Shots were fired in sniper style from an angle located above the stage. Five shots were heard by a particular spectator who gave a statement to the news media commenting that he spotted a man crawling along the roof of an adjacent building. The unidentified spectator informed BBC news that he attempted to alert police by shouting that he saw a a suspicious appearing man, particularly, after having noticed that the man was carrying a firearm.
As shots were being fired, spectators began to duck , many dropping to the ground to avoid being shot. Efforts made to avoid the gun fire were unsuccessful by one man, Corey Comperatore, a former Pennsylvania fire chief.
Comperatore was the one man situated at an angle just behind and apparently left of Trump’s podium. The location of the gunman and his sim was the culmination of a deadly shot fired that struck Comperatore , killing him instantly.
According to a subsequent report, the wife and daughter of the dead man commented that their husband and father forced them to get down, covering them with his body to prevent their being shot by the gunman.
Today, the former Fire Chief is being recognized as a hero—one who gave his life to save another.
