STATE & NATIONAL: On a day in early July, Houston PD Deputy officer was reportedly killed in the line of duty. Officer. Fernando Esqueda, 28, was fired upon during an investigation that led to his tragic death.
On July 10, northeast Houston Deputy police officer, Fernando Esqueda, reportedly met with gun fire while trailing a person believed to be the suspect in a pizza parlor employee beating.
According to the HPD report, Esqueda followed a suspect after receiving a report that the a vustomer pistol whipped an employee of the Little Caesar’s restaurant.
The incident occurred at the Little Caesars Pizza on Wallisville Road in northeast Houston
The altercation began when the customer Ronnie Palmer, became upset over an incorrect order and subsequently pistol-whipped the employee.
Deputy police officer, Esqueda arrived in the area of the incident after having tracked down Palmer. Having located the suspect, Esqueda drove behind him for a while, subsequently, arriving within the near range of the suspect who immediately opened fire striking Officer Esqueda several times.
Esqueda was taken to the LBJ Hospital where he later died of fatal gun shot injuries.
The investigation into the apparent brutal beating and ultimate shooting uncovered a 2nd suspect . dream one Francis was apparently involved in both incidents. Both Palmer and Francis have been charged with Capitol murder.
