House Oversights Hears Comments By US Secret Service Director, Kim Cheatle


NATION: On Monday an investigation conducted by the House Oversight Committee peered into the events involving the recent shooting incident on July 13 that involved former President Donald Trump. The House inquired in regard to the lack of adequate security that left gaping holes in certain areas, one in particular, that allowed Thomas Crooks to slip through and succeed in shooting Donsld Trump and killing one spectator, former Butler, Pennsylvania Fire Chief, Corey Comperatore.

Stating the US Secret Service is faced with learning more about the incident involving the shooting at (). US Secret service Director, Kim Cheatle, stated that the organization is working closely with investigation . Cheatle stated, today, that the “ US Secret Service takes full responsibility for the lapse in security.”

Cheatle described the situation that transpired during the Trump campaign rally as “ a most significant operational failure…” The Secret Service Director, on Monday, stated that the mission ofthe Secret Service is to protect national leaders and international leaders when visiting the United States.


The House Oversight and Accountability Committee questioned the Secret Service’s insufficient security that failed to protect Fonald Trump. Cheatle was unable to account for the ineffective manner by which the Trump rally has been only inadequately secured.


Cheatle ended her comments stating that , for the Secret Service, every situation is a matter of life and death. Director Cheatle closed comments by stating that the Secret Service is caused to move heaven and earth to provide protection for US public officials.


Information gathered by the HOAC indicated that while the PAPD, state police and the Secret Service work together during the investigation of the Butler rally, the FBI was not vo tacked to assist with the investigation.
