US Secret Service Director, Cheatle Resigns Following Failed Security During Trump Pa. Rally


NATION: The morning after Kim Cheatle spoke during the House Oversights and Accountability hearing, the Director ofthe US Secret Service resigned her post. On Monday, Cheatle accepted full responsibility for the “ lapse…” in security that, it is believed, opened a channel for gunman Thomas M Crooks to strike and injure former US President Donald Trump.

Kimberly Cheatle, the American law enforcement officer who rose to the height of her career becoming the 27th Director ofthe U.S. Secret Service in September of 2022 having remained an officer of the USSS for 20 years.


In the years of her service to the Inited States. Cheatle has served as a protector of US public officials and on occasion, she has provided assistance to others of her feather during US official crisis.


Cheatle assisted with the evacuation of national officials including Dick Cheney and others after the 9/11 attack on a number of US government facilities. Cheatle provided protective detail for public officials during the Obama administration. Her excellence as a special agent won for her the coveted post as Assistant Director of Protective Operations, spending 3 years protecting US Presidents and those visiting the White House from foreign governments .


For every step up taken, every success won and badge of bravery pinned and polished, it was only one day, one event, one injured President that was the game changer for Kim Cheatle.


In a crowded outdoor space with only several warehouse style buildings that distinguished the crowd from structures and separated the dignitaries stage from others onthe ground, the vast space of several hundred thousand acres had been breached. Despite the call to attention by one or more spectators, that day, the US Secret Service ignored the call to attention. One billet after another fired from the roof of one of the buildings struck the former President, cost one man his life and caused the loss of a career to US Sevret Service Director, Cheatle.


On Monday, July 22, as she responded to questioning by the HOAC, the Director of the US Secret Service Cheatle expressed her truth in regard to the incident that , otherwise, demonstrated that which she put into words as being a “lapse in security.” Cheatle told the Joyse Committee that the Secret Service “ failed..” to fulfill its obligation to protect a U.S. public official


There was also the admittance of failing to provide the HOAC with a list of names of all agents under her command that were present furing the July 13, Trump rally. An angry Congressional committee expressed disapproval of Cheatles failed efforts at providing security. House panel member, Congressman Collin’s indicating that there had been no attempt made by Cheatle to respond to requests made to the US Secret Service for adding measures of security.


Despite her assertions stating that there had been no service requests denied, the ultimate dets dealt the final blow. It was when Cheatle could not deny that the Secret Service received as many as five alerts citing an apparent person of interest in possession of a fire arm. Neither of the alerts received any response. Congress moved forward to request the resignation of the 20 year tenured Secret Service agent and Director.
