Jill Biden recently delivered a speech on women’s health research in Paris, France. During her very poignant speech, she emphasized the significant gaps in understanding conditions that mostly affect women, only affect women, or affect women differently.
Dr. Biden highlighted that women’s health is understudied and underfunded, leading to a medical world largely designed for men.
As she spoke in regard to the need for maintaining an active health regimen, Dr Biden pointed out that this issue affects all women, from elite athletes to everyday individuals, and shared examples of women facing challenges with conditions like ACL injuries, concussions, fibroids, and menopause.
Dr. Biden stressed the importance of investing in women’s health research to ensure better treatments and cures for everyone.
Additionally, Dr Biden acknowledged the efforts of various individuals and organizations working to advance gender equity and improve women’s health outcomes.
