“I don’t think there’s anything more frustrating nor more urgent than addressing the matter of homelessness in California.”— Governor Gavin Newsom

The order would allow for law enforcement to fine and arrest those whose tents remained in place after the order gmhad been issued.

“Agree but if, and only if, we provide them an alternative location to sleep.”— Billoonaire Vinod Khosla

Newsom stated his position in regard to the matter indicating that he has exhausted every possible resolution. Newsom stated that. while there had been nothing done by the state in response to the homeless situation in California, last week, the Governor commented that the state has, now, poured one million dollars into addressing the situation and cleaning up California streets.

Governor Newsom’s order directs agencies across the state to ensure the added support made to the homeless , providing available resources to aid in making their transition. The Governor has also ensured that state and local agencies adopt humane and dignified policy in addressing the matter involving the removal of the homeless encampments.

Newsom has raised $24 billion dollars assisting as many as 165,000 homeless people with gaining access to housing.

In reaction to the SCOTUS ban, one Caligornia billionaire, Vinod Khosla, commented with agreement to the Governor’s decision however adding a demand for ensuring that the homeless were provided adequate substitutes for their tent homes. Joshua stated, “It should be better than a street tent, with a place to go to the bathroom and shower, transport to jobs so the homeless can get a job. If so, cost of homelessness will decline.”

Newsom’s report, made in review of the Clean California project developed in 2021, stated that California has removed 11,000, cleaned nearly 300,000 square feet of property. The Clean California project ensured the protection of life, health and safety of residents in communities where tent camps were overwhelming.

Governor Newsom’s plan is designed to endure the respectful removal or homeless encampments while Caltrans provides advance notice to those living in homeless camps. Caltrans, also, provides storage of property and other essential needs.
