Learn About 9 Groups of Vice President Harris’ Smartest US Women & Men-The Divine 9

NATION: Vice President Kamala Harris has often given mention to the group referred to as the Divine 9. The D9 is a type of acronym that refers to a group of nearly 4 million members of the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) of fraternities and sororities.

The D9 states that it plans to “…activate the thousands of chapters and members in our respective organisations to ensure strong voter turnout in the communities we serve.”—Divine Nine

Describing the Divine Nine in reference to its allegiance, the group is membered by Greek- letter organizations that support youth and the black community providing scholarships and public service within the realm of its members.

Last week, Vice President Harris spoke during the biennial convention of the Zeta Phi Beta sorority. Vice President Harris is a pledged, lifetime member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. Both sororities are members ofthe NPHC.

Following the disclosure of Vice President Harris’ recent rise to the run for President, the Divine Nine, which is more than organizations member Ed by women, declared its support to assisting Harris with whatever she may require to seat as the first woman and first woman of black-Asian culture to seat at the head ofthe United States.

Today, like millions who continue to pour into the organization of fraternities and sororities from college and university campuses across the nation. In fact, the publisher of ENSNewsii relates to the NPHC as she recalls her father, Erby A Crawford, as being a graduate of Texas Southern University and a member ofthe Omega Psi Phi fraternity, 1943.

The Divine Nine has put their most effective voter registration and community action efforts behind Harris’ run for President. The D9 has plans for ensuring high voter turnout while community action hours are put to work to “ get out the vote!”

The Divine Nine is membered by the first black sorority established on the campus of Cornel University, 1908. As the oldest member of the D9, the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority supports building community, supporting youth in academics and, in this venture to elect the next President ofthe United States, the Kamala Harris community, also, plans for teaching young et generations to organize better in support of community.
