“In the face of increasing threats to American democracy institutions, I am calling for three bold reforms to restore trust and accountability.” —US President Joe Biden

Biden has proposed 3 new reforms that make changes in the U.S. Supreme Court . President Biden has sought after a crucial goal to preserve democracy in the United States and, as the comments made by Vice President Harris echo this very plan, the current thrust for saving democracy is, also, a plan to save the United States.

The United States is the only constitutional democracy that gives lifetime seats to its high court. Term limits would ensure that the court’s membership changes with some regularity. That would make timing for court nominations more predictable and less arbitrary. It would reduce the chance that any single presidency radically alters the make up ofthe court for generations to come.”—US President, Joe Biden

President Biden provided an extensive disclosure of his plans for ensuring democracy is upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court.

“First, I’m calling for a constitutional amendment called the No One Is Above The Law Amendment.”—US President Joe Biden

The President stated that the No One Is Above the Law would work to ensure that no former President can be immune from prosecution for crimes committed during a presidency.

“I share our Founder’s belief that the Predident’s power is limited, not absolute. We are a nation of laws—not kings and dictators.” —US President Joe Biden

Biden stated further, that the term limits that have been held in the federal government for , now, 75 years, should apply to US Supreme Court Justices.

Today, the President stated his support for a system that might elect a Justice every two years and they, thereafter, serve a term of 18 years as opposed to a lifetime service.

The President calls for a “…binding code of conduct…” for members of the US Supreme Court. According to the President, tge high court’s current voluntary code is weak and is self-enforced.

Justices, Biden says, should be forced to disclose the receipt of gifts, should refrain from public political involvement and recuse themselves from cases they or their spouses have any financial or other conflict of interest.

Finally, President Biden stated that every federal court judge is bound by an engorceable code of conduct adding that there is no reason the U.S. Supreme Court Justices should be exempt.

Biden stated, today, “ We can and we must prevent the abuse of presidential power. We can and we must restore the public faith inthe Supreme Court. We can and we must strengthen the guardrails of democracy. In America, no one is above the law.”
