US & GLOBAL: During their recent discussion, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin III and Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant addressed several critical issues involving Secretary Austin's condemned ofthe July 27 attack by Lebanese Hizballah on Israel. Austin indicated that the 7/27 attack was such that resulted in the tragic loss of twelve civilians, mostly children participating in a soccer game.

Austin reaffirmed the U.S.'s unwavering commitment to Israel's security and its right to self-defense.


Today, following his discussion with Minister Gallant, U.S. Embassy readout from U.S. Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin discussed made disclosure of matters in which the Israel minister engaged in talks.


In Israel, it was during their discussion, the two national officials engaged in negotiating ongoing efforts to achieve a diplomatic solution that would allow citizens on both sides of the Israel-Lebanon border to safely return to their homes.


The conversation also touched on the opportunity to finalize a hostage and ceasefire deal in Gaza


These discussions highlight the continued cooperation and shared goals between the U.S. and Israel in addressing regional security challenges and seeking peaceful resolutions.
