Brazilian Flight 2283 Crashes In São Paulo-All 62 Passengers Reported Dead


STATE & NATIONAL: In Brazil, Civil Defense authorities have arrived at the scene of a deadly aircraft crash that occurred on Friday in São Paulo, Brazil. The flight 2283, ATR-72 aircraft was traveling to the Sao Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport when it lost all signals crashing 50 miles from its destination.

Flight 2283 left the city of Cascavrl, Parana at about noon on Friday. Today, officials investigating the crash have speculated whether excessive ice may have contributed to the aircraft’s nalfuction.


The flight record reports that the aircraft was due to arrive at São Paulo Aurpirt at 2:00 pm. According to the Black Box, the pilot experienced difficulty at 1:21 pm whike the aircraft flew at 17,000 ft.


Wrestling with the su craft to sustain its altitude, tge pilot brought the craft back up after it dropped within 10 seconds by 250. The recovery was only momentary as the aircraft’s altitude fell a second time by 2000 ft. At that time, all power had been lost entering into a free fall tsilspinn from 17,000 ft. The aircraft was located hours later in Vinhedo, Brazil.


Recovery efforts began immefiately after the aircraft’s crash site had been located. Reports from Brazil rescue teams indicate that 26 people were removed from the flight, however, all 62 including the first recovered were reported dead.


A full report of tge names of 58 passengers and four crew members will be provided following the ongoing investigation


As of August 10, Brazilian authorities repirt the names ofthe following:


1). Pilot; Captain Danilo Santos Romano

2). Co-pilot; Humberto de Campos Alencar e Silva, 61

3). Flight Attendant; flight attendant Débora Soper Avila, 29

4). Father & daughter; Rafael Fernando dos Santos, and Liz Ibba Dos Santos, 3


In Brazil, the National Civil Aviation Authority, currently investigating the crash, is expected to release the identities of the remaining 29 passengers.


Following the news of the crash of Flight 2283, one mane, a Rio de Jenero resident stated that he was scheduled for tge flight that crasged only missing the departure as a result of a technical matter involving his ticket. Adriano Assis stated that despite his attempts at persuading the ticket agent, his hope for boarding the aircraft. Assis commented, the ticket agent “ Saved my life!”
