President Biden In New Orleans To Discuss Moonshots Cancer Research Initiatives

On Tuesday, President Biden's visit to New Orleans is expected to find the President delving into discussions on several key developments related to his Cancer Moonshot initiative.

President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden will announce up to $150 million in funding for cancer research programs


The funding, announced by the President and First Lady, aims at supporting innovative research and treatment methods.


The President will likely reiterate the ambitious goal of the Cancer Moonshot initiative, which is to arrive at a 2% death rate which will result half the rate that was recorded in 2020.


The Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health will assist Biden with providing an outline for the progress of ARPA-H, which focuses on improving the accuracy and precision of cancer surgeries.


The funding includes the announcement of federal dollars of up to $23million for cancer surgery research that will, also, be provided to Tulane University, Rice University and John's Hopkins.


The President will conduct discussions that will highlight the administration's commitment to advancing cancer research and improving patient outcomes of the Cancer Moonshots initiatives.
