Former Congressman, Santos Plead Guilty To Fraud Charges• Facing Possible Up To 20Yrs Sentence

STATE & NATIONAL: Today, in a () court, former Congressman, George Santos pleaded guilty to wire fraud and aggravated identity theft. Arranged by Santos' attorneys, the plea deal includes an estimated sentencing range of 20 years.

While in court, Santos admitted to using credit cards fraudulently, making false statements to the Federal Election Commission, and committing wire fraud between September and October 2022.


Additionally, Santos will have to repay more than $300,000 dollars in stolen funds, an amount that is subject to his criminal charges.


Today, the court cited claims made involving Santos' in response to his fraudulent graduation from New York University and Baruch College.


Santos pleaded guilty to charges including wire fraud, money laundering, identity theft and making false statements on financial disclosure forms.


Former Congressman, George Santos, will return to court for sentencing trial that is scheduled for February, 2025.
