Description
* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 114 expected.
* WHERE...Victoria, Calhoun, Refugio, Aransas, San Patricio, Nueces, Jim Wells, and Kleberg counties.
* WHEN...Until 8 PM CDT this evening.
When working in ( or being out in)the heat, drink 1 cup (8 ounces) of water every 15–20 minutes. This translates to ¾–1 quart (24–32 ounces) per hour. Drinking at shorter intervals is more effective than drinking large amounts infrequently.
* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events.
