The details that have transpired in regard to the investigation, thus far, describe the tragic incident that occurred at a festival in Solingen, Germany. Three people were killed and eight others injured during a stabbing rampage.
Authorities have not ruled out terrorism as a motive, given the lack of any other known motive and the seemingly random nature of the attack.
A manhunt is currently underway for the suspect, who remains at large.
A 15-year-old individual has been detained, but their connection to the attacker is still under investigation.
The attack took place during a festival celebrating the city’s 650th anniversary.
The local community is in shock, and the festival has been canceled.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz emphasized the need to catch the perpetrator quickly and ensure they are punished to the fullest extent of the law.
It’s a deeply distressing situation, and my thoughts are with the victims and their families.
