NATION: On Wednesday, the reaction to the Windsor, Georgia. High school shooting by most in Washington and elsewhere has been that of utter shock. Vice President Kamala Harris has responded to the mass shooting with strong comments stating the shooting is a “ senseless tragedy… We’ve got to stop it.”

Today, the reaction to the Georgia high school massacre shooting by most Americans states their expression of opposition to the failed ATF concern for increasing limits to gun sales.
In the last 5 to 10 years, gun sales have increased from 7.8 million gun owners in the United States to nearly 22 million.
According to reports gun sales between 2005 and 2024 gun sales have increased to more than 1.4 million per month in the first 4 months of 2024 as sales by August climbed to 5.5 million .
The increase in guns entering the U.S. market has been reported at 446% in a 10 year time span.
All but one state has seen an increase in the population-adjusted rate of estimated gun sales over the past 10 years. In 2021, a survey found that around 42 percent of households in the U.S. reported owning one or more firearms.
According to the 2024 statement on gun ownership, the West has the highest estimated gun sale rates of the four major regions of the country.

The Vice President was traveling to Portsmouth, Va. when the news of the shooting was reported. Vice President Harris paused for a moment recalling her most recent experience with US school student . Harris indicated today as she spoke before attendants at the () campaign rally that the mass shooting participation by students was a heart rendering moment as the numbers of student living in the fear of gun violence has become an increasing reality.
Today following the shooting, Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith stated the shooting was reported at 9:30 am— schools in Barrow County ordered lockdowns. While Barrow County continues its investigation, Georgia Bureau of Investigation has joined the BCPD subsequently confirming the arrest of one shooter.
Vice President Harris commented under a great evidence of duress as she stated her feelings about gun violence in America: Harris commented in regard to how US children are sitting in classrooms and their minds , at times, consider how they should react to a shooter bursting through the door of their classroom.
Reflecting on how , when she was growing up, the schools conducted gore drills. Harris stated “It doesn’t have to be this way. It doesn’t have to be this way!”
