Bettencourt Meyers’ fortune, which peaked at $100 billion late last year, has since dropped to $89.9 billion.
Experts have indicated that Bettencourt-Meyer’s decline was influenced by a 12% drop in L’Oréal’s share price, partly due to political and economic challenges in France and China.
Today, Alice Walton’s wealth surged to $95.7 billion, driven by a 44% increase in Walmart’s shares in 2024.
Walton’s increases represent a quite significant rise in net worth such that has allowed her to reclaim the title of the world’s richest woman.
