The Harris- Trump Debate Rules Are In- ABC Hosts The 2024 Presidential Debate In Philadelphia


POLITICS: ABC News has announced the details for the upcoming debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump.


Date and Time: The 2024 Presidential debate is scheduled for September 10, and will air on ABC at 9 p.m. ET.. ABC’s location selected for the debate is National Constitution Center in Philadelphia.


According to information provided by ABC, the debate will last 90 minutes with two commercial breaks. There will be no live audience. Moderators for the debate will be The debate will be David Muir and Linsey Davis.


Today, ABC Network officials hosting the presidential debate have, also, made significant efforts at ensuring the best possible outcome for the candidates. ABC has provided a list of rules that will be enforced during the debate.


According to the ABC officials’ decisions the following rules will be imposed:


1). Microphones will be muted when it is not the candidate’s turn to speak.


2). Each candidate will have two minutes to answer questions, followed by a two-minute rebuttal and an additional minute for follow-ups or clarifications.


3). There will be no opening statements, but each candidate will have two minutes for closing statements.


4). Candidates will stand behind podiums and are not allowed to use props or pre-written notes.


As the debate session opens, a coin flip determined the order of closing statements and podium positions.


This year’s debate is a significant event marking the first in-person faceoff between Harris and Trump ahead of the November election.
