Israel Met w/Delays As Hamas Declines Ceasefire/ Hostage Release Deal

US & GLOBAL: On Friday, the situation between Hamas and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the hostage release and ceasefire deal has seen several delays and complications.

By Anne M Erbynstein

One of the significant issues is the killing of six hostages by Hamas, which has made Netanyahu’s stance even more rigid. Netanyahu has introduced new demands at the last minute, which has further complicated the negotiations.

According to the most recent report, the demands made in the Israel deal have been seen as obstacles by Hamas. Hamas has officially rejected the terms for a hostage release-ceasefire deal that were discussed in Doha.

Today. Israel has indicated that Hamas is blaming Netanyahu for introducing new obstacles. President Joe Biden has expressed frustration, stating that Netanyahu is not doing enough to secure a hostage deal.

Netanyahu has been clear that a ceasefire is “not close,” and his demands have become stricter in response to the hostage killings.

This ongoing situation highlights the deep-seated challenges and mistrust between the parties involved, making a resolution difficult to achieve.
