As the former US Vice President, Dick Cheney’s opinion in the ongoing campaign are quite substantive. Cheney’s, decision, also, aligns with Liz Cheney’s own endorsement of Harris, as both have been vocal critics of former President Donald Trump.
Dick Cheney served as Vice President under President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2009. The Bush - Cheney Administration was in office for two terms, during which they dealt with significant events such as the 9/11 attacks and the subsequent War on Terror.
Today, in his public statement, Dick Cheney emphasized the importance of putting country above partisanship and expressed his belief that Trump poses a grave threat to democracy.
The Cheney s endorsement is significant given both the former Vice zPresident and daughter, Congress member and January 6 investigation panelist, Liz Cheney’s long-standing Republican affiliation.
