After weeks of delays, the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals recently decided in regard to President Biden’s Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) student loan debt relief plan. Today, the court granted a motion for an administrative stay filed by a group of Republican-led states.

The court’s decision to stay the Supreme Court ruling prevents the administration from implementing parts of the SAVE plan that were not already blocked by lower court rulings.

In regard to student lending systems within states. a number of them have challenged the plan while arguing that it exceeds the administration’s authority and could have significant financial implications.

Today’s decision by the 8th Circuit Court leaves many borrowers in a state of uncertainty regarding their student loan repayments.
