Upon Becoming US President Harris Says” I will not ban fracking!”


NATION: It was during the most recent U.S. Candidates for President’s debate that US Vice President Kamala Harris was challenged to respond to the question surrounding her plans for addressing fracking in Pennsylvania. Harris, a professed proponent of industrial fracking, stated that she would support the fracking industry in Pennsylvania. As lawmakers in Penndylvsnia address new avenues for enduring the industry’s approval by the EPA, a number efforts are currently being made to arrive at the standards set by the EPA.

On Monday, the news involved in the situation concerning Pennsylvania lawmakers’ and an oversight that transpired in regard to fracking— the act of breaking into areas of the earth to release shales of natural gas. Lawmakers recently introduced legislation aiming at ensuring accountability standards and locking in on oversights


Today’s situation in Pennsylvania involves fracking

and efforts that have followed a grand jury report highlighting issues within the unconventional oil and gas sector. Most recently, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) recently lifted a 12-year ban on fracking in certain areas.


Decisions made by the Pennsylvania EPA will allow Coterra Energy Company to drill new gas wells, raising concerns among residents about potential methane contamination.


Recent studies have revealed significant health risks for residents living near fracking operations, including respiratory issues, cancer, and adverse birth outcomes. The findings have prompted calls for immediate action to protect public health.


In regard to the developments in Pennsylvania that reflect ongoing debates and concerns about the environmental and health impacts of fracking in the state, there are a number of environmental concerns that continue to create friction and result in questions being raised surrounding the EPA’s response and handling of specific aspect associated with the fracking industry.


While Harris has responded to criticism lodged from the opposite side of the aisle, it is according to the expert impresdion by some in Washington that, as US President, Harris will greatly benefit by the fracking industry and its potential for sustaining areas of U.S. defense against Russia.
