Updated: Jan 13

NATION: In the last 30 hours, a deal that was struck between House Republicans and Democrats was considered sufficient by both side enough to end the threat of a government shutdown.

Following discussion and a heavily negotiated debating session in Congress, House members were able to agree to terms on spending , while, surprisingly, an agreement was fjord in a bipartisan manner despite Democrats denial of Republican's attempts at including border demands.

According to the recent developments in Congress on Friday, Democratic House members resisted portions ofthe agreement that included building a new wall at the southern border and restoring the former 'Remsin in Mexico' rule.

During the tug-of-war negotiations, Republicans sought after a deal with Democrats that would provide for additional military aid to Ukraine while hinging their agreement on the border deal. Without a border agreement, House majority members would avoid any agreement on appropriating military funds to Ukraine..

The end result appears to be a total stand off that, once agsins carries the threatening shutting down the government. House Speaker, Johnson, was , however, able to encourage GOP s to consent to another temporary agreement keeping the doors of government open until decisions made by both sides forms a final agreement when Congress meets next week.
