STATE & NATIONAL: Perry High School mourns the loss of the Iowa high school Principal whose heroics conducted in the hope of preventing harm being committed against students, Dan Marburger has died. Marburger who died along with a 6th grade student, stood in front of the gunman who , last Thursday, fired randomly at students in the Perry High School cafeteria.

According to the report made today following the news of the death of High School principal, Dan Marburger, the 57 year old administrator took steps to prevent students being shot.
The report states that former Perry High student, 17 year old Dylan Butler, entered the school cafeteria where he opened fire on students.
Reacting to the gun fire, Principal Marburger tried to stop Butler and sustain fatal injuries. During the gun fire , 11 year old Amir Joliff was shot and killed by his fellow classmate, gunman Dylan Butler.
A report made by City of Perry police indicated that 7 students were , also, injured during the incident while a number ofthe injured remain hospitalized.
Shooter, Dylan Butler was killed during the shooting.
