US Discovers India Government Employee Plotted Murder of Sikh Separatist Movement Leader


NATION: Today, a New York court dislcosed details contained in an unsealed indictment alleging the "murder-for-hire plot planned by India national Nikhil Gupta, aka Nick, 52. The court dislcioosed portions of indoemtaion confiormed by the US Department of Justice indicating that Gupta participated in a thwarted assassination plot formed against a US citizen who is perceived as a critic of India and head of an organization advocating for the secession of Punjab. By Michelle Crawford-Sapenter On Wednesday, the US Department of Justice has made the full disclosure of an apparent assassination attempt that, however, went wromng for the assassin. According to the US DOJ report, Nick Gupta , a citizen and resident of India is described as an India government employee associated with the CC-1 organization-- a group that conducts weapons and narcotics trafficking. Gupta has indicated that he is a Senior Field officer with the India government. By Michelle Crawford-Sapenter "At CC-1’s direction, Gupta contacted an individual whom Gupta believed to be a criminal associate, but who was in fact a confidential source working with U.S. law enforcement (the CS), for assistance in contracting a hitman to murder the Victim in New York City."-- Comments by US DOJ

The background report on Gupta stated that along with being a Sr. officail in the India government, Gupta has stated being responsible for Security management and Intelligence, also, for having served as an officer in the Central Rserve Police Force having, also, some affiliation with the battle craft and weapons. US DOJ indicates that CC-1 ordered the assassination. "On or about June 9, CC-1 and Gupta arranged for an associate to deliver $15,000 in cash to the UC as an advance payment for the murder. CC-1’s associate then delivered the $15,000 to the UC in Manhattan." -- Comments by US DOJ The information provided to the court stated the plan by Gupta and accomplices to assassinate, on US soil, a US attorney and political activist following Guota's having been appointed by the CC-1 to perform the assassination. Gupta issued comments to the UC stating that Nijjia "...was also the target...“we have so many targets...no need to wait.” Gupta stated that her to move forward with the assassination of the Victim. The court's re[port indicates that the target of the assassination whose name has not been released by US DOJ acts as an advocate for the secession of Punjab, a region of northern India inhabited by Sikhs. It was made apparent to the court that the target person supported the secession of Punjab for the purpose of establishing Sikh sovereignty --"... an ethnoreligious minority group in India." Following the line of the plot, Gupta was introduced to a hitman by the CS. It turns out, the hitman was working with the Victim in New York as a US law enforcement assistant. The report indicates that the CC-1 brokered the deal and planned to provide Gupta as much as $100,000 dollars to ensure the murder of the Victim. In June of 2023 , Gupta made arrangements for the assassination planning, also, to deliver $15,000 to the hitman( undercover agent)-- an advance payment for carrying out the murder plot. The murder-for-hire order was cpomplwete with instructions on the daily activities of the Victim.


Gupta followed-up on the arranggements , providing daily details on the Victim's activiies. On June 18, 2023 the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar was committed near a Sikh Temple in British Columnia-- a 2nd target for Gupota's assassination plot.

The Senior India government emnployee, Nick Gupta has been charged with murder-for-hire and conspiracy to commit murder for hire. according to the penal code for the State of New York, the penalty assess a maximum imprisonment of 10 years for each of the crimes. Sentencing in the murder for hire case brought against Nikhal Gupta will be decided by a federal court.
