US DoJ Follows Up on Defense Dept. Talks w/Israeli Defense Minister-DoJ Investigates US Killed In Wa


NATION: This week, the US Department of Defense will conduct an investigation into the deaths of Americans killed during the Israeli- Hamas war. The decision follows discussions held by U.S. Secretary of Defense General Lloyd Austin III who spoke, Tuesday, with Israel Defense Attorney, Yoav Gallant.

On Tuesday, as US Secretary General Lloyd Austin III concluded his talks with Israel Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant, the U.S. military woukd provide instruction on how to approach the difficult task of providing the humanitarian aid requested by Palestinian militants. Israel has indicated that fighting will continue, Secretary Lloyd cited the prospect of further threats against those delivering aid being created as a result.


While the war prdists, US citizens remain hold up amid the fighting. Reports have indicated that the return of a number of U.S. citizens has shined light on the absence of those who have not returned also point out the fact that an investigation must proceed as tge next step in determining the events that surrounded the deaths of Americans there,


Conducting the investigation into the deaths of US citizens in Israel and Gaza , US Attorney General Merrick Garland indicated that the United States follows up with investigating the deaths of its citizens as a routine. The investigation of Americans who were casualties of the Israel- Hamas war will include those fighting for Israeli forces and others residing in Israel or the Gaza


Garland stated that the DOJ will investigate the connection that Hamas may have to US residents adding that the focus will also be concentrated on any possible financial goes that may be had between Hamas militants and U.S. residents.


A report from the U.S. State Department spokesperson, Matt Miller provides the information of the number of Americans residing in Gaza prior to the outbreak of war. The US report indicates that 1800 Americans are known to have been living in the region as the October 7 attack transpired. The return to the United States was conducted by , at least 800 Americans. Today at least 1000 American remain in the Gaza, Israel or may have been among the 2.7 million residing in the Gaza who were evacuated to Egypt
