POLITICS: Next week, US President Joe Biden will welcome Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the White House. The visit, scheduled for the last week in September, will find President Biden and Zelensky engaging in discussions along with US Candidate for President Kamala Harris.
AaaaIn the last week, President Biden has called for the review of US weapons stockpiles while, also, requesting Ukrsine to provide a clearer picture of their plans for the use of weapons to be provided by the U.S. in the next military drawdown.
During his visit with Biden at the White House, Ukrsine President Zelensky will, also, have an occasion to meet separately during a bilateral discussion with Vice President Harris on Thursday.
Moreover, Russian President Vladimir Putin has express concern over Ukrsine’ s use of long range missiles. Putin has threatened the use of harsher tactics if Ukraine’s moves forward with LRMs.
Despite the threats made by Russia, NATO Director General Jens Stoltenberg has indicated that Ukrsine’s use of Ling Range Missiles should not result in any cause for an expansion of the Ukrsine-Russian war. Both the US and the EU have agreed with Stoltenberg.
Discussions are expected to turn a closer focus toward Ukraine and the ongoing conflict with Russia. Talks held next week will provide the potential for the U.S. to loosen restrictions on long-range weapons for Ukraine.
Additionally, Zelenskyy will address the United Nations General Assembly before his meetings at the White House.
